Some information described above, including health, recovery, religious or philosophical belief, identification, and precise travel information, may be considered sensitive personal information under applicable law.

3. How we collect information

We collect information:

  • directly from applicants, participants, companions, and people who contact us;

  • from a person who purchases or applies on behalf of a companion, after appropriate notice or authorization;

  • automatically through the Website and essential technologies;

  • from Stripe and other providers that help process a transaction or deliver the Retreat; and

  • from emergency contacts, medical responders, insurers, authorities, or witnesses when reasonably necessary to address an incident.

If you provide information about another person, you represent that you are authorized to provide it and will direct that person to this Policy where appropriate.

4. Why we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • receive and evaluate requests for invitation;

  • verify age and Retreat eligibility;

  • communicate about an application, invitation, booking, payment, credit, or transfer;

  • process payments and prevent fraud;

  • arrange accommodation, meals, dietary accommodations, airport transfers, local transportation, and Retreat programming;

  • confirm required travel and medical insurance;

  • coordinate arrival and departure;

  • support accessibility, health, dietary, recovery, and safety needs;

  • respond to emergencies, incidents, complaints, disputes, and insurance matters;

  • enforce participant agreements, property rules, and substance-free requirements;

  • operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Website and services;

  • maintain business, accounting, tax, insurance, and legal records;

  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims;

  • comply with law and respond to lawful requests; and

  • send promotional emails or newsletters where permitted, subject to the right to unsubscribe.

We do not use sensitive information to make unrelated advertising profiles or to infer health, religious, or recovery characteristics for targeted advertising.

5. Consent for sensitive personal information

We seek express electronic consent to collect, use, store, transfer, and disclose sensitive personal information for eligibility, Retreat administration, accommodation, meals, transportation, accessibility, safety, emergency response, legal compliance, insurance, and claims purposes.

When a person checks the box agreeing to the Recovery Reset Terms and Conditions and submits sensitive information, that person electronically acknowledges this Policy and expressly consents to the processing described in the Terms and this Policy.

Providing required sensitive information is voluntary, but we may be unable to evaluate an application, provide a requested accommodation, safely administer the Retreat, or permit attendance without it. Consent may be withdrawn by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal and may not require deletion when retention is necessary for law, safety, insurance, or legal claims.

6. When we disclose information

We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to:

Service providers

Hosting, form, email, communications, document-signature, cloud-storage, security, analytics, advertising, accounting, legal, and insurance providers that support our operations. These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies or under contractual restrictions.

Payment processors

Stripe and related financial providers process payments, help prevent fraud, and manage transaction records. Their processing is governed by their privacy notices.

Retreat providers

Property owners or managers, restaurants, independent chefs, drivers, transportation companies, facilitators, and other providers may receive the minimum information reasonably needed to provide accommodation, meals, transportation, programming, or an approved accommodation.

Safety and emergency recipients

Emergency contacts, medical providers, emergency responders, insurers, assistance providers, authorities, or other appropriate recipients may receive information when reasonably necessary to protect a person, respond to an incident, or arrange assistance.

Professional advisers and legal recipients

Lawyers, accountants, insurers, auditors, regulators, courts, law enforcement, or government authorities may receive information when reasonably necessary or legally required.

Business transactions

Information may be disclosed in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.

We do not sell or rent personal information. If our practices change in a way that applicable law treats as a sale, sharing for targeted advertising, or another activity requiring notice or choice, we will update this Policy and provide required controls before beginning that activity.

7. International processing and transfers

Recovery Reset is a U.S. company and Retreats take place in Mexico. We and our providers may process information in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and other countries where service providers operate. Privacy laws and government-access rules in those countries may differ from those in a person’s home jurisdiction.

We use reasonable administrative, contractual, and technical measures for cross-border processing and remain responsible for personal information as required by applicable law. By submitting information and, where required, providing consent, you acknowledge these international transfers.

8. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including legal, tax, accounting, insurance, safety, and dispute-resolution needs.

Passport details, medical information, insurance documents, dietary and allergy information, and other sensitive Retreat-administration records will generally be deleted or securely anonymized within 90 days after the Retreat ends. We may retain specific records longer when reasonably necessary for an unresolved incident, insurance matter, legal obligation, regulatory inquiry, complaint, dispute, or legal claim.

Transaction, tax, contract, consent, and accounting records may be kept for longer periods required by law or ordinary business-record obligations. Marketing contact information may be retained until a person unsubscribes or asks us to delete it, subject to a minimal suppression record used to honor the opt-out.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Safeguards may include access restrictions, account controls, secure service providers, staff confidentiality expectations, and deletion practices.

No website, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach, we will investigate and provide notices required by applicable law.

10. Privacy choices and rights

Depending on where a person lives and the law that applies, they may have rights to:

  • know whether and how we process personal information;

  • request access to or a copy of personal information;

  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • request deletion or cancellation;

  • object to or restrict certain processing;

  • withdraw consent;

  • opt out of promotional communications;

  • receive information about disclosures or international processing; and

  • complain to an appropriate privacy or consumer-protection authority.

These rights may be subject to exceptions, identity verification, and legal retention requirements. To make a request, email mariza@gorecoveryreset.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify identity and protect against fraudulent requests. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Residents of Mexico may request access, rectification, cancellation, or opposition and may revoke consent as provided by applicable law. Canadian individuals may also contact us with questions or complaints about our accountability, consent, access, accuracy, safeguards, or cross-border processing practices. U.S. residents may exercise rights available under the law of their state.

11. Marketing communications

We may send operational messages necessary to process an application, administer a booking, address safety, or provide requested services. A participant cannot opt out of essential service messages while an application or booking remains active.

We may send promotional emails or newsletters with consent or as otherwise permitted by law. Each promotional email will include an unsubscribe method. A person may also opt out by emailing us. We may keep a limited suppression record to ensure the address remains unsubscribed.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

The Website may use essential cookies and similar technologies for security, network management, preferences, forms, and payment or checkout functions. These technologies are necessary for requested Website features.

Recovery Reset does not currently represent that any particular analytics or advertising tool is active. We may later introduce analytics or advertising services, such as website-measurement or advertising pixels. Before activating optional technologies, we will update this Policy to identify relevant practices and providers and will implement consent or opt-out controls where required.

Users may manage cookies through browser settings and any Website consent tool. Blocking essential technologies may prevent parts of the Website from functioning.

13. Photography and video

Photography or video may occur during a Retreat. Participants may opt out of appearing in Recovery Reset marketing content by notifying us in writing before the Retreat and following any reasonable on-site process. We will use reasonable efforts to honor documented preferences.

We will not use a participant’s identifiable image, voice, testimonial, or story in a manner that exceeds the consent or release provided. Participants are prohibited from recording workshops or photographing, filming, or recording other attendees without permission.

14. Children’s privacy

Recovery Reset Retreats and application processes are intended only for adults age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has submitted personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

15. Third-party services and links

The Website may contain links or integrations operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, not this Policy. We encourage users to review those notices before providing information.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy by posting a revised version with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use previously collected sensitive information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by law.
